How do I break a project into separate tasks for multiple freelancers to work on?

Introducing Tasks on Conyac

You can have multiple freelancers working simultaneously on your Projects by splitting them into Tasks. The process is the same as for regular Conyac Market projects. Review your applications, negotiate the terms, and close the contracts with the ones you selected. The reward amount is fixed by you or mutually agreed with your applicants.


  1. Use the non-negotiable amount specified in your project description for everyone.
  2. Negotiate the amount with each applicant individually.
The workflow for task-based projects is as follows:
  1. Create your Project
  2. Click "Edit Project" at the top right corner of your Project page, then select "Task Setting."
  3. Tick the "Use Task" box at the upper left of the new page to enable task working.
  4. Set up Tasks
  5. Negotiate terms and hire
  6. Contract + Prepayment
  7. The freelancer(s) you hired will start work
  8. The freelancer(s) will submit their completed tasks for your review
  9. Release payment
  10. Post feedback

Registering New Tasks in Bulk

You can register your tasks by listing them together in the same file.

We have prepared an example file for you to use as a reference. Here's how to get it:
  1. Click the "Task" tab located at the top of your project page.
  2. Click the "Add & Download" tab on the right of the new bar.
  3. Click "Download an example of file" on the right.
  4. Open the newly-downloaded file to edit it.
Editing the Example File:
  1. From line 2, each line corresponds to 1 task.
  2. Enter a task title and a description for all of them in columns B and C.
  3. The different segments for each task should be entered from column D.
  4. To increase the number of entries for your tasks, just add columns from H and after.
Uploading Your Edited File:
  1. Click the "Task" tab located at the top of your project page.
  2. Click the "Add & Download" tab on the right of the new bar.
  3. Click "Upload a file" in blue on your right.
  4. From the new page, upload your filled file, enter a title and some instructions for your task, then click "Create" at the bottom.
Your instructions will be displayed in the blue space at the top of the task page (can be left blank as well).

Publishing Your Tasks

  1. Click the title of the task you want to make available from the tasks list.
  2. Confirm the details of each task from the new page by clicking its title.
  3. When you are ready, click the "Publish" button. (only the freelancers you made a contract with will have access to them)
  4. Choose the date and time when you want your task to become available, then click "Submit."
  5. Your task will be automatically published on the chosen date.
  6. After submitting, the status of your task will be changed to "Public," and the release date will be displayed.
  7. If you check the "Tasks" tab, you should also find the corresponding tasks marked "Listing."

Downloading Your Task Data

You can download the results of your tasks in a single Excel file as follows:
  1. Click the "Tasks" tab in the top bar.
  2. Click the download icon located on the center-right side of the screen and choose between the two available options: "Translation + Original" and "Translation only."
  3. On the new file downloading page, click the download icon for the corresponding tasks, and the data will be yours!

Assigning Sub-leaders

You can assign sub-leaders on task projects, who will check the tasks on your behalf.

How to assign sub-leaders:
  1. After choosing one or more applicants to become a sub-leader, go to the "Applications" tab and click your freelancer's name to access their page.
  2. On the new page, click "…More," then "Change role."
  3. Now select the role you would like to give to your application from the drop-down menu and click "Change role."
